About Hug a Heart
Our Story
From the Founder
Hug a Heart was created to give back to the people who saved my life and advocate for patient and overall care in the Pediatric Cardiology field. Throughout my teenage years, I have struggled with anorexia nervosa, permanently damaging my heart in the process. At sixteen, hospitals had became my home, and my heart rate had become my second language. I owe everything to the Cardiologists at Denver Health that did not give up even when my own body did. Throughout my recovery, I have fallen in love with advocating for myself and my peers to professionals and have gained a deeper understanding of the intricacy that is the field of Cardiology. With their help and the support of Eating Recover Center, I am now able to attend St. Francis Catholic High School and soak up the rest of my teenage years. I want to use the obstacles of my life to advocate for pediatric cardiac care and help other impacted cardiatric patients receive the life they dream of.
Our Mission
We hope to make an impact on the field of pediatric cardiology and care units to benefit patient comfort and tecservice opportunities. With the help of donations and handmade gifts through fundraisers, we know the impact an act of giving can make on a brave patient. Each event will benefit directly to hospitals across the nation, able to reach a smile at every corner of the United States. With your help, we will reach our goals, one helping heart at a time.
